How to get the 7 Dragon Balls

The Dragon Balls are disseminated through the Stages in the story mode and it is possible to earn them as an additional price if you win the tournaments.

If the player has collected the seven Dragon Balls, he can invocate the Dragons and unlock some additional characters, potaras and arenas or get some Z points.

So here are some tips to get the 7 Dragon Ball faster :

In the story mod, it is particularly easy to collect the 7 Dragon Ball in the Goku VS Slug and Future Trunks VS Imperfect Cell missions. All you have to do is to run through the buildings until you get a Dragon Ball and then win the fight (otherwise you will loose the ball).

How to invocate the Dragon you want to invocate : Choose Your Shenron

Like in the anime, there are 3 Dragons who can be invocated in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and they are : Shenron, Porunga and Ultimate Shenron and each one of them can unlock differents things.

So, how to invocate a particular Dragon so you can unlock the character, stage or object you want ?

When you activate the 7 Dragon Balls, they RANDOMLY invocate one of the Dragons so to invocate the Dragon you want, do the following :

After collecting the seven Dragon Balls, Save the game and then activate the Dragon Balls. If the Dragon invocated isn't the one you want, just reboot the game, load your savegame and activate the 7 Dragon Balls again. Repeat this procedure until the Dragon you want is invocated.

How do you do Fusions in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

If you want to do fusions, they are only possible in Team battle mods and only if the characters below are in the same team :

- Gogeta and Vegeto : Goku (End) and Vegeta (2nd Form).
- Gogeta SSJ4 : Goku GT Super Saiyan 4 and Vegeta Super Saiyen 4.
- Gotenks : Son Goten and Kid Trunks.

To make theses characters merge during a fight, press the R3 button (on the PS2), keep it pushed and in the same time, press the left, top or right arrows button to become the fused character you want (Vegeto, Super Vegeto, Super Gogeta, Gogeta SSJ4 and Gotenks base form, SSJ or SSJ3).

How to KO evil opponents in one hits with Spike the Devilman

Devilman's Ultimate Kikoha inflicts more or less damages to his opponents depending how good or evil they are. If Devilman's opponent has a pure heart, his Ultimate won't inflict any damage to him but as contrary against a character filled with evil, the super move will be devastating ... and if you give the right potaras to Spike the Devilman, he can KO theses characters in one hit with this move.

How to KO any opponents in one hit with Goku (Middle)

To do this trick, give the same potaras I gave to the character Goku (Middle) in the Tenkaichi 3 Tips and Tricks video below and choose to set the fight on the "Namek Planet" Stage. Then do what I did in the video and your opponent will be knocked out cold after having been touched by Goku's Spirit Bomb.

Mettre KO en un coup les adversaires avec Tenshinhan :

Give Tienshinhan the potaras I did in the video below, use his Ultimate and while he does it, press repeatedely the triangle button. As a result, Tien's opponent will be knocked out.

How to boost Babidi's ultimate move

When Babidi uses his grab move, he absorbs a part of his opponent's strenght inside the energy collector he created for resurrecting Majin Buu. Then, if after doing a grab move, you use Babidi's Ultimate, you will see that the damage are bigger. And this can be stacked but the damage boost goes back to zero everytime Babidi's ultimate is used.

Also, if in team battles, you put Babidi and Spopovitch toghether, if Spopovitch does his ultimate (which consist of absorbing the life and energy of the opponent with Babidi's energy collector, then this will also greatly boost Babidi's ultimate.
And there are tons of small details like theses in the game which make the characters unique. Another one :

Some characters are immune to the Solar flare technic

Solar Flare (also known as Taiyken) has no effect on characters who wear sunglasses or against robots. The following characters are immune to it : Great Saiyaman, Master Roshi, Dr Wilo, Pilaf's robot and Cyborg Tao.

How to throw destruction disks with some characters :

If you choose the characters Early Goku, Goku (Middle), Goku (End), Krillin and Android 18, press the R1 button and then triangle. The character will jump and launch a destruction disk on the opponent.

How to stun the opponent in Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

When the opponent is low on ki and you aren't on max power mod, attack him and if he blocks use a chargeable attack oriented in a given direction (for example press Square+Left for a few second) to try breaking his guard. The thing is : Each time you break the oppnent's guard, you take one Ki bar out of him so if has less than one ki bar and you break his guard, he will be stunt, out on his feets, during a moment.
A good tip to increase your chance of stunning the opponent is to give to your character the yellow potaras "Mind Breaker" or better if you play with an Evil character, give him the blue potara "Gigantic Power". With the "Mind Breaker" potara, your character will take out of his opponent 2 ki bars if he breaks his guard and with the "Gigantic Power" potara, 3 ki bars.

How to absorb energy with Dr Gero, Android 19 and Super 17

When you play with Dr Gero, Android 19 or Super Android 17, if the opponent fire an energetic attack toward you, press the "Circle" button and keep it pushed while using the directional left or righ arrows. If you do that, your Android character will absorb the energetic attack. It works both with small energy blast and Kikohas (Super Moves).

How to use fast movements in Max Power Mode

In max power mode and only with some characters like for example Goku SSJ3, press the Circle button + one of the directional arrow and your character will disappear and reapper shortly in the given direction.

How to counter

Press the Cercle+triangle buttons when the opponent is about to hit you and your character will block and counter or avoid the opponent's hit and counter.

There are a lots of combos to be made in Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 3 and some of which are fairly easy to perform :

Infinite combos

The Infinite combo patterns

In addition to the temporary infinite combos which all characters can perform as long as their Max Power Mode last (so between 5 and 15 seconds), some characters in the game have infinite combo patterns.

The special Infinite combos

Theses infinite combos can be performed by most characters IF they fight a giant characters or the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly and IF certain conditions are met.

How to enter inside Master Roshi's House with LSSJ Broly

First, select the mode "2 players" and choose Broly in his Legendary Super Saiyan form and the character you want for the player 2. Then, set the fight to take place in the "Kame House" Arena.

basically what you have to do this Tenkaichi 3 trick is to position the player 2's character to the opposite side of the house and launch a rush attack with Broly against Master Roshi's House).

How to enter in Goku's house in the Mont Paozu Stage

Select the 2 players mode and choose a small character like Arale for example and for the character controlled by the player 2 choose the one you want. Now choose to fight in the Mont Paozu Stage and if you do like I did in the video below, the small character you have chosen will manage to enter inside Goku's house.
